| Office sky-scraper (Hamburg / Germany)
In an existing silo various elements like a certain number of bins were demolished and replaced by office facilities. The total area is 33 x 33 m. The existing silo had a height of 43 m. Six of the external bins were included in the new construction.
A new central core provides the required overall stability. In its height the existing building was even extended by placing another three floors on top of the eleven floors built into the existing height of 43 m. Various aspects had to be taken into account like heat insulation, adapt the existing foundation to the changed load bearing system.
